Q2 2019 Recap: Parolees in Rockford convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in Rockford during the second quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Rockford Sun.

The data shows that a man and woman were released in Rockford. The younger parolee was a 29-year-old man sentenced in 2013. The other was a 45-year-old woman sentenced in 2013.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Deontez Williams. He was convicted of homicide in 2013 when he was 22 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
