City of Rockford issued the following announcement on April 24.

Today, Governor J.B. Pritzker announced an extension of the Stay at Home order until May 31. There are, however, modifications to the order beginning on May 1. The Governor summarized the changes to include:

• Surgi-centers and hospitals can begin non-life-threatening surgeries.

• Retail stores can offer pick-up and delivery.

• Some of the state parks can reopen for hiking, fishing & boating with no more than two people.

• Wearing a face covering will be required in a public place where you can’t maintain a 6-ft social distance.

• For essential businesses, including manufacturers, the state is issuing new social distancing requirements and new occupancy caps.

When the official order is made public, we will post it here.
