City of Loves Park issued the following announcement on June 13.
First off the Loves Park water Department would like to apologize to those residents who received early morning calls regarding water main flushing. We have identified the issue and it has been resolved. Second we will be flushing the last section of the city, outlined below, Starting Monday June 15th. We will be utilizing our automatic notification system to notify affected residents. These calls will take place on Saturday for the following weeks affected areas. This should take approximately three weeks to complete. Please contact the water department at 815-877-1421 with any questions.
Area 3
The Loves Park Water Department will begin its annual water main flushing program on Monday June 15th ,2020. The areas affected are bordered by the Rock River to the west, Alpine Road to the east, Harlem Road to the north, and the City limits to the south.
System flushing will be done between the hours of 8:00AM and 5:00PM Monday through Friday ending on Thursday July 2nd.
Residents in the affected areas may find their water to be discolored. The discoloration poses no health risk but may cause staining of laundry. Please use Saturday and Sunday for laundry and other water uses that would be adversely affected by this procedure.
