Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on June 22.
Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Dr. Ryan Engel to the staff of the Mercyhealth Cancer Center–Rockford, 2400 N. Rockton Ave., in Rockford.
Dr. Engel is passionate about cancer care. “I aim to be caring, approachable, available and dependable. I treat all patients and their families as if they are a member of my own family. Not only do I focus on the best-tailored cancer treatment, but also strive to alleviate physical and emotional complications of their cancer. I feel a sense of honor in participating in the care of our patients.”
Dr. Engel earned his medical degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. He then served an Internal medicine residency at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, Illinois. Dr. Engel also completed his Medical Oncology and Hematology fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.
His special interests include a variety of cancers such as breast, lung, colon, prostate, kidney and bladder, anemia, leukemia and clotting disorders.
