SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on July 23.
SwedishAmerican is pleased to announce it received the fifth-highest ranking in the state of Illinois in the latest Lown Institute Hospitals Index rankings.
The Lown Institute incorporated civic leadership into its ranking system, taking into account the obligation hospitals have to improve the health of the community outside the hospital walls. SwedishAmerican ranked fifth out of 158 hospitals in Illinois and 153rd out of 3,282 hospitals nationally.
For more than a century, SwedishAmerican has been dedicated to delivering high quality healthcare and strategies to keep families well. SwedishAmerican invests hundreds of thousands of dollars annually into the Rockford region to improve access to health care and promote and improve community health.
