Cost of college went up for all students at Rockford University

Tuition and fees rose 2.9 percent for 2018-19 at Rockford University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $30,930 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $880 more than the $30,050 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 150 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.9 million and 123 students took out student loans totaling more than $871,550.

Including all undergraduates (1,203), 919 students used grants or scholarships totaling $13.9 million, and 763 students took out $6 million in federal student loans.
