Cost of college went up for all students at the Madison Media Institute-Rockford Career College

Tuition and fees rose 11.6 percent for 2018-19 at the Madison Media Institute-Rockford Career College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $14,918 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $1,552 more than the $13,366 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 69 students received grants or scholarships totaling $357,283 and 67 students took out student loans totaling more than $578,224.

Including all undergraduates (408), 328 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.6 million, and 376 students took out $3.1 million in federal student loans.
