III. OFFICERS REPORTS A. Mayor McNamara

Mayor McNamara reported there are thousands of residents currently without power in the City of Rockford. He directed anyone that sees a live wire to immediately contact 815-966-2900 to report it. Mayor McNamara mentioned there are numerous crews working as quickly as they can and he asked citizens to remain patient during this time.

Alderman Hervey requested that city staff provide the aldermen with ComEd's report of the estimated time table for when power would be restored to neighborhoods affected by the storm once they receive it.

Mayor McNamara assured Alderman Hervey the report would be distributed to the council members as quickly as possible.

Alderman Beach reported according to an update he received from ComEd prior to the City Council meeting, 21% of all residents who lost power during the storm have already had their power restored.

B. Alderman Beach

Alderman Beach announced that due to the severe storm the Republican Caucus meeting would be postponed until next Monday evening.

C. Alderman Hoffman

Alderman Hoffman inquired if residents need to make a report for every tree that fell during the storm or if city staff be performing a sweep through neighborhoods.

Public Works Director Kyle Saunders indicated that residents should call and report the location of any fallen trees. He shared the City of Rockford has already received over 150 requests for service and that crews are working diligently to respond to each request.

Alderman Hoffman asked how residents should make a request for tree service.

Director Saunders stated the best way for residents to make a request for service is by calling 779-348-7260.

Alderman Hoffman then inquired if there was a line down in addition to a tree if residents should contact the City of Rockford or ComEd.

Director Saunders stated that residents can still contact the City of Rockford and city staff would notify ComEd about the line.

City Administrator Todd Cagnoni shared that residents should contact ComEd directly if there is an outage or if there is a line down.
