Winnebago County #1 Fire Protection District responded to 37 calls in 2018 - 19.4 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Winnebago County #1 included 33 fires - 12 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 18 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $42,000 in fire loss - or about $1,273 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

The Winnebago County #1 Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $714,115 in 2018.
