SWEDISHAMERICAN HOSPITAL: SwedishAmerican Welcomes Pediatric Cardiologists to Heart Institute

SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Oct. 5.

SwedishAmerican is pleased to welcome new pediatric cardiologists Dr. Suhaib Kazmouz and Dr. Syed Asif Masood to the Heart Institute (1340 Charles Street, Rockford, IL).

Dr. Kazmouz serves as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. He obtained his medical degree at Aleppo University in Syria and completed his residency in pediatrics at Crozer Chester Medical Center, which is affiliated with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Kazmouz has been practicing in the Rockford area since 2014 and is a member of American College of Cardiology and a fellow ship with

Dr. Masood is a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Illinois at Chicago. He obtained his medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences and has 20 years of practicing experience. He is a member of American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association, American Society of Echocardiography and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.

“SwedishAmerican is proud to welcome two distinguished pediatric cardiologists to our team at the Heart Institute,” said SwedishAmerican Heart Institute Manager Gurpreet Bhamra. “They bring several years of experience with a strong passion for providing community-based care in pediatric cardiology.”

Dr. Kazmouz and Dr. Syed will hold fetal cardiology and pediatric cardiology ambulatory clinics as well as be on-site to cover any in-patient NICU or ED consults in person.

“Dr. Kazmouz and Dr. Masood bring extensive knowledge and experience and will be extraordinary additions to our Level III NICU,” said Jennifer Callison, Director of Women and Children Services at SwedishAmerican.
