Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Nov. 16.
Mercyhealth is excited to announce its insurance arm, MercyCare Health Plans, now offers individual and family health insurance options for Boone and Winnebago county residents, effective January 1, 2021. Open enrollment for health care under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). MercyCare Health Plans is the only plan in the ACA marketplace offering access to Mercyhealth physicians and hospitals.
These new plans give members access to Mercyhealth’s seven hospitals, and 85+ primary and specialty care facilities throughout 50 northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin communities. Mercyhealth also offers post-acute services (home health care, home health equipment, hospice), as well as full-service pharmacies and other retail services.
“Residents of Winnebago and Boone counties deserve a local, cost-effective, comprehensive health insurance option,” said Patrick Cranley, Vice President of MercyCare Health Plans. “Our rates are lower than other plans in the area, which makes MercyCare a desirable health care option in the individual ACA marketplace. MercyCare coordinates all aspects of health care to ensure our members receive the most effective service at the lowest possible cost.”
