SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Dec. 28.
SwedishAmerican is pleased to welcome Dr. Amber Ijaz to Edgewater Medical Center (2909 N. Main Street, Rockford IL).
Dr. Ijaz received her medical degree from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana and completed her residency at Amita Health Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago.
Originally from Des Plaines, Illinois, Dr. Ijaz is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association and American Osteopathic Association. Her medical interests include Disease Prevention, Diabetes Management, Holistic Medicine, Pediatric Care, Preventive Medicine and Women and Children.
“I pursued a career in the medical field to help and serve people, which to me is the ultimate rewarding experience,” Dr. Ijaz said. “I respect lifelong patient-physician relationships and believe that empathy, compassion, kindness, and being a team player and a lifelong learner are important qualities in providing outstanding care to patients and their families.
