Winnebago County Sheriff's Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 25.
After almost three decades with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department help us wish a very happy retirement to Senior Deputy John French.
During his time, he was on SWAT, was a Field Training Officer, and was a Firearms instructor. Senior Deputy French was most recently stationed out of Machesney Park and last year was named Deputy of the Year by the Village. Over the course of his service he also worked in patrol and courthouse security.
Congratulations Senior Deputy French! Enjoy retirement!
