Village of Rockton Budget & Finance Committee Met Aug. 17.

Chairwoman May called the regular meeting of the Budget & Finance Committee to order at 6:30 pm. Members present: Mayor Peterson, Scott Danielson, Corine Hughes, Cory Magnus and Jodi May Staff present: Chief Dickson, Tricia Diduch & Deputy Chief Hollinger
Also present: Scott Fridly
Motion by Mr. Magnus, second by Mr. Danielson, to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of August 3, 2021. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
SPECIAL WARRANT CONSIDERATIONS
None.
RECOMMENDATION OF PAYMENT
Bills were reviewed and recommended for approval in the amount of $269,083.23.
MAYOR PETERSON
Mayor Peterson stated that he spoke with a lender today in reference them financing some property in the Village.
VILLAGE COLLECTOR, CORINE HUGHES
Ms. Hughes stated that there is enough money to cover the bills, but that she may hold back the Rock Energy check to make sure that payroll is covered next week.
Ms. Hughes added that Civic is going to be having a virtual seminar for two days in September and that she would like to attend. Ms. Hughes stated that she spoke with Mr. Barber and advised him that there is a virtual utility billing seminar for one and a half days that would be beneficial for Ms. Carlson and Ms. Van Leeuwen to attend as well. The Committee was okay with this.

CORY MAGNUS, TRUSTEE
None.
SCOTT DANIELSON, TRUSTEE
Mr. Danielson inquired about the Village getting paid back for the Chemtool fire expenses. Mayor Peterson stated that Atty. Szeto has a contact person at Chemtool and that he is trying to take care of this. Ms. Hughes added that the Village is still incurring legal expenses because Atty. Szeto is responding to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests that have been submitted to the Village.
