City of Loves Park City Council met Dec. 13.

Mayor Gregory Jury called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Pastor Wendall Maynard of Firstborn Ministries, opened the meeting with an invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

1. Approve Minutes 12/06/21
The Journal of Proceedings for the regular meeting of December 6, 2021 was approved as submitted by the city clerk on a motion by Alderman Schlensker. Second by Alderman Pruitt. 2. Yard Waste Pickup
Mayor Jury announced that the last day for yard waste pickup will be this Friday, December 17, 2021.
3. General Fund Bills
Alderman John Jacobson presented the General Fund and all other bills dated December 6, 2021 in the amount of $318,763.99, and moved that they be paid. Second by Alderman Peterson. Motion carried. 10 Ayes (Aldermen Holmes, Schlensker, Allton, Warden, John Jacobson, Puckett, Dan Jacobson, Pruitt, Thompson, Peterson)
4. Water Department Bills
Alderman John Jacobson presented the Water Department bills dated December 6, 2021 in the amount of $32,165.97, and moved that they be paid. Second by Alderman Peterson. 5. Public Safety Report
Alderman Allton presented the Police Department Report dated December 13, 2021; presented the Fire Department Report dated December 13, 2021, to be placed on file.
6. Public Works Report
Alderman Schlensker presented the Street Department Report dated December 13, 2021; presented the Water Department Report for December 13, 2021, to be placed on file.
7. Finance and Administration Committee
Alderman John Jacobson of the Finance and Administration Committee presented the General Fund and all other bills dated December 13, 2021 in the amount of $786,704.17, for consideration at next week’s city council meeting; presented the minutes from the committee meeting held December 6, 2021, to be placed on file.
8. K-9 Fundraising
Alderman John Jacobson presented the following resolution, that WHEREAS, the Loves Park Police Department K-9 teams are valuable tools for local law enforcement and for community relations, and WHEREAS, the costs of supporting these teams is substantial, and WHEREAS, the local community has been generous in their support of these teams and is interested in initiating additional fundraising for the ongoing K-9 expenses, the Loves Park Police Department is hereby authorized to accept donations from the public for this purpose.

Further, donations received will be deposited into Account No. 01-00-5970 (Grants) and will be used exclusively to support the K-9 teams of the Loves Park Police Department. RESOLUTION NO. 21-111
10. Appropriation Of Motor Fuel Tax Funds
Alderman John Jacobson presented the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLVED, that by the adoption of this Resolution, that Motor Fuel Tax funds in an amount not to exceed four hundred eighty thousand dollars ($480,000.00) are hereby appropriated for the purpose of maintaining streets and highways under the provisions of the Illinois Highway Code from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. Funds are hereby appropriated and shall be drawn from Account No. 05-00-5115 (Motor Fuel Tax/Salt) and Account No. 05-00-5110 (Motor Fuel Tax/Street Lighting). Second by Alderman Peterson.
