City of Rockford Historic Preservation Commission will meet Feb. 8.

Here is the agenda provided by the commission:

The Mayor has determined that an all in-person meeting is not practical or prudent because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, board/committee members may appear electronically or by phone. Links to join the meetings virtually will be posted on each agenda as well as the rules for public speaking.

1) Request for Opinion – Request for Opinion as to Amendments to Ch. 113 (Historic Preservation) of the City of Rockford Code of Ordinances to strike Sec. 113-35(c)(4) requiring a two-thirds majority vote to approve landmark designation of any building, place, or area when the owner of said building, place, or area is opposed to designation.
