The Rockford University men's volleyball team (3-15, 0-5 NACC) fell in straight sets (25-9, 25-14, 25-10) on Wednesday night to Concordia University Chicago (3-11, 2-2 NACC). Unfortunately, it was a rough night for the Regents, as the Cougars were in control for really the entire match. The Cougars finished with 29 kills over the three sets, compared to just 12 for the Regents.
THE RECAP
- Concordia Chicago used a 14-3 run to open the match and seize control of the first set.
- Rockford never got any closer than ten the remainder of the way, as the Cougars took the opening set 25-9.
- The second set got off to a similar start, with CUC jumping out to an early 10-4 lead.
- The Cougars would eventually push their advantage to double-figures at 19-9, before taking the second set 25-14.
- The third set was much closer in the opening moments, with Concordia Chicago leading by just one at 6-5. Jose Padron and Isaiah Dixon each recorded a kill for Rockford to begin the set.
- Unfortunately, things quickly went south for Rockford, after CUC used a 13-3 run to take control of the set.
- The Regents were unable to get back within single-digits the rest of the match, with Concordia Chicago taking the final set 25-10 and the match 3-0.
