Men's Soccer Falls to Cougars

The Rockford University men's soccer team fell 1-0 on the road Wednesday afternoon to Concordia University Chicago. Although the Cougars finished the match with seven more shot attempts than the Regents (19-12), the two schools tallied the exact same amount of shots on goal (5). Unfortunately, it was CUC who that found the back of the net for the game-winner in the 25th minute to secure the 1-0 victory.

REGENT RECAP

  • There were just ten total shot attempts combined in the first half, including only three shots on goal.
  • Concordia Chicago's Oscar Montejano broke the scoreless tie in the 25th minute, when he scored what turned out to be the only goal in the match.
  • Rockford however did have multiple scoring chances in the second half. The Regents took a total of nine shots, including all five of their shots on goal over the final 45 minutes.
  • Unfortunately, the CUC keepers thwarted all of the Regents' scoring chances to secure the 1-0 win.
STAT LEADERS

  • Abraham Gonzalez tied for the match-high with 4 shot attempts and 1 shot on goal.
  • Lorenzo Amador finished with 2 shot attempts, both of which were on target.
  • Gustavo Lazcano recorded 4 saves.
