Illinois State Rep. Tom Demmer (R-Dixon) and candidate for State Treasurer recently shared photos of his visits to Elk Grove, Palatine, Schaumburg and Bloomingdale.

"It was a beautiful Saturday to spend with folks in Elk Grove Village, Palatine, Schaumburg, and Bloomingdale. I was glad to knock on doors to support Rep. Chris Bos, to celebrate the start of Diwali, and to stand with Ukrainians in a prayer for peace," Demmer wrote in an Oct. 22 Facebook post.

According to the Daily Herald, Demmer will visit Schaumburg Township on Oct. 29, at the Schaumburg Township Republican Organization breakfast forum.

Illinois Valley Times reports that in August, Demmer spoke on the Bishop on Air program to discuss his run for state treasurer.

"In the last seven years or so, I've been the chief budget negotiator for the House Republicans and spent an inordinate amount of time working on state fiscal issues and having that familiarity, but also understanding how some of the arguments are made, how people sometimes cast finances in a certain light in order to suit a political outcome and we're certainly seeing that with the governor, at one time saying the state' s finances 'we must pass this tax or we'll never survive' and now painting a very rosy picture as he seeks reelection," Demmer said during the interview, according to Illinois Valley Times. "So I think you need to be able to see through some of those arguments and be able to present a little bit more of a fact-based approach and, you know, that's what I've been working to do in the legislature, that's what I do as State Treasurer."

In mid-September, Demmer visited Little Village to experience the community's Mexican Independence Day parade, Illinois Valley Times reported

"A little rain can’t stop us! I was glad to join a huge crowd for the Mexican Independence Day parade in Little Village,” Demmer posted on Facebook.
