City of Rockford Community Action Agency Executive Committee met Sept. 20.

1. Directors Report HHS
Report from Anqunette Parham:
a. Anqunette is in Chicago meeting with other agencies to see how we can get more mental health officials into schools, through Headstart.
b. Board Training September 27 Noon until 2 at City Market. Are there any specific questions or topics from the Executive Committee?
i. Karen Hoffman: Can we get a history and purpose of the Community Action Agency?
ii. Mike Chamberlain: Why money goes where it goes? What are some good community organizations that can be molded?
c. Jennifer Jaeger is no longer with the city.
i. Her role is being reevaluated and needs a lot of information to be updated. Once changes have been made, there will be a post for her position.
d. Working to develop a broad program to help Refugees being displaced from other places, per the governor’s orders. Working with IDHS, DECO, and DCFS to make sure any refugees are able to get housing or to a secondary location.
i. Karen Hoffman Could we potentially use Singer’s medical facility
as a potential temporary housing until refugees could be relocated?

i. Can we look into traveling training for board members, to help expand our worldview?
ii. Dorothy Redd will need to be recertified by the county board. So let’s see where she is at and wants to continue with the board in November.
iii. Need to get people who want to show up.

i. Can we get a bibliography of publications used for training purposes and history?
