Wide Format Print & Finishing Specialist

Colorwave Graphics is seeking an experienced and technical individual with a thorough understanding of wide format digital printing; specifically, color management, media profiling and operating roll-to-roll inkjet, flatbed UV, plotter and CNC cutting equipment. Proven knowledge of Onyx Rip and x-rite i1 calibration hardware/software is preferred. Additional graphics finishing experience such as lamination, mounting, weeding, masking and vinyl application is a bonus!Since 2002 Colorwave provides a creative solutions resource with a variety of strengths not limited to Displays, Exhibits, Signs and Wraps of all kinds. Colorwave is a 3M certified installation company which provides our clients with a trusted source for the most demanding print and installation projects. We also produce sales kits for the roofing industry which include in-house fabricated samples combining digital print, manufacturing and custom packaging.Primary Duties• Operation, calibration and maintenance of all wide-format digital printing equipment.• Manage RIP software / setup proper communication to all wide-format printers, digital finishing equipment and calibration devices.• Create, name and save media profiles for all printing substrates.• Maintain file management and perform regular backups via Colorwave's internal system.• Develop strong relationships with suppliers, routinely test emerging products, file and capture test results and pricing for management.• Inventory management of all wide-format printing equipment supplies including maintenance materials, ink and media.• Create maintenance schedules for all wide-format printers, plotters and CNC cutting equipment and routinely document.• Work with equipment manufacturers, phone support and schedule repair technicians when approved by management.• Routinely clean and organize work areas around and near wide-format printing equipment.Secondary Duties• Assist with receiving, document any damages of goods and report to management. Keep and file all packing slips via Colorwave’s filing system.• Help finishing department with any of their daily needs.• Learn all facets, techniques and procedures for laminating and mounting our variety of vinyls, films and substrates.• Package customer orders. Greet, hand-off and capture customer’s signature during order pick-ups.• Perform light-duties such as assembly of parts, sorting and palletizing product.• Review and quality control outside vendor orders.• Setup displays for review and assembly of graphics.• Assist with vehicle wrap crew by accepting customer vehicles, performing inspections and documentation of vehicle conditions.• Clean and prep vehicle exteriors via Colorwave and 3M standards. Qualifications Requires considerable computer and raster image processor (RIP) software knowledge; preferably Onyx Rip. 3-5 years of wide format printing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have good judgment of color, design, and printing quality. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work orders, US and Metric measurements, technical procedures and installation diagrams. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees. Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations of printing jobs.

Compensation

$20 – $25 per hour, paid bi-weekly
