Village of Rockton Public Works Committee met Jan. 3.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Mrs. Honkamp called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at 5:43 pm. Members present: Mayor Peterson, Dan Barber, Arianne Honkamp, Jodi May and Don Self Absent: Adam Bunge, Kevin Bunge and Tyler Seever
Motion by Mrs. Honkamp, second by Ms. May, to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of December 19, 2022. All ayes. Motion approved 2-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
VILLAGE ENGINEER – KEVIN BUNGE
Village Engineers Kevin Bunge and Adam Bunge were absent. A copy of the engineering status report is on file with the Village Clerk’s office.
MAYOR – JOHN PETERSON
Mayor Peterson inquired about the ice skating rink at Village Green Park. Mr. Self stated that the ice rink has been holding water since the weather has been nice lately.
STREETS AND WALKS – TYLER SEEVER
None.
WATER, SEWER, & GARBAGE – JODI MAY
None.
BUILDINGS AND PARKS – ARIANNE HONKAMP
None.
PUBLIC WORKS – DAN BARBER
Mr. Barber advised the Committee that he would like the Village Board to hold a special meeting so that they can discuss increasing the water/sewer rates. Mayor Peterson stated that he would like to see what’s on the next agenda for Village Board to see if a special meeting is necessary.
Mr. Barber stated that he was able to get an additional $1,500 for turning in copper from the Well #8 project.
PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR – DON SELF
Mr. Self stated that all of the Christmas decorations are down and put away.
Mr. Self added that he would like Atty. Szeto to review the specs before going out to bid in regards to mowing in the Village.
Mr. Self advised the Committee that he is currently working on vehicle maintenance at Barwood.
