Q3 2022 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Winnebago County?

There were 122 offenders living in Winnebago County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun.

The data shows 112 men and 10 women were released in Winnebago County. Of the parolees, three were veterans, and the median age was 34. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2022, and the oldest was a 77-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2016.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Antonio Craig. He was convicted of homicide in 1994 when he was 25 years old. He is now 54.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2022 in each Winnebago County.
