Q3 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from Boone County convicted of drug crimes set for release

There were two offenders convicted of drug crimes living in Boone County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Rockford Sun.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes was 45. The younger parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2022, and the oldest was a 67-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was William E. Butler. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 66 years old. He is now 67.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of drug crimes were paroled during the third quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
