City of Rockford Historic Preservation Commission met Aug. 8.

V. NEW BUSINESS
1. Certificate of Appropriateness – Kurt Bell – 2127 Broadway – replace existing cedar roof shakes with a DaVinci Select Shake product as described on the submitted COA application.
2. Certificate of Appropriateness – Marty Mangus – 1327 Brownwood Drive – remove existing split-rail fencing and anchoring chat, clean out existing post holes, and install new a wooden split-rail fence and posts in existing post holes as described on the submitted COA application.
3. Certificate of Appropriateness – Randy Newhart – 1656 Ethel Avenue – remove an existing railroad tie retaining wall on the west side of the property and replace with a new materials.
4. Certificate of Appropriateness – Ged Trias for Winnebago County – 403 Elm Street – repair small portions of the exterior which includes a cracked slab under a small exterior portico on the side of the building and a stair railing cap, and the replacement of a door at the base of the stairwell under the portico that was destroyed in the fire.
