Village of Rockton Budget & Finance Committee met Aug. 14.

Chairman Winters called the regular meeting of the Budget & Finance Committee to order at 6:30 pm. Members present: Mayor Peterson, Scott Danielson, Jodi May, Michelle Prather and Dave Winters Staff present: Tricia Diduch & Chief Hollinger
Absent: Dennis Hildebrandt
Motion by Ms. May second by Mr. Danielson, to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of August 1, 2023. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.

SPECIAL WARRANT CONSIDERATIONS
None.
RECOMMENDATION OF PAYMENT
Bills were reviewed and recommended for approval in the amount of $337,549.36. Mr. Winters stated that $227,000 of this is for one of the road projects.
MAYOR PETERSON
Mayor Peterson discussed the IMLRMA Min/Max insurance with the Committee. Mayor Peterson explained that the Village owes an additional $46,000 due to several claim from one employee. Chief Hollinger stated that 2021 was significantly higher than most years and that this was settled and has to be paid by November. Chief Hollinger added that there is still an open case from 2020, but that the Village may still be okay and not have to pay any additional cost. Chief Hollinger said that the Village requested that the adjuster reach out, but that we haven’t heard anything yet. Chief Hollinger commented that the Village asked if we are doing the right thing by having the Min/Max and that they were advised that they are. Chief Hollinger suggested that next budget year that the Village have the difference between the Min/Max included so that we are covered.
Mr. Winters discussed liability insurance for the Goldie Floberg property. The Committee agreed that this needs to be purchased in case something happens. Mayor Peterson stated that Mr. Winters can get a consensus at the Village Board meeting later in the evening at a cost not to exceed $1,500 so that this can get rolling. The Committee was okay with this.
Mayor Peterson added that Mr. Hildebrandt is having some issues logging into the software from his computer remotely and that we need to figure out this issue. Mayor Peterson said that it has something to do with when the administrative assistant from the police department is logged into the system that Mr. Hildebrandt can’t log in. Chief Hollinger said that this is the first that he has heard about this, but that he will talk to Garcea in regards to this and get it resolved.
