Village of Rockton Budget & Finance Committee met Jan. 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Winters called the regular meeting of the Budget & Finance Committee to order at 6:30 pm. Members present: Mayor Peterson, Scott Danielson, Dennis Hildebrandt, Jodi May, Michelle Prather and Dave Winters

Staff present: Dan Baumgartner, Tricia Diduch, Chief Hollinger, Arianne Honkamp and Justin York

Motion by Ms. May, second by Mr. Danielson, to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of December 19, 2023. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.

PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

SPECIAL WARRANT CONSIDERATIONS

None.

RECOMMENDATION OF PAYMENT

Bills were reviewed and recommended for approval in the amount of $217,934.12.

MAYOR PETERSON

None.

VILLAGE TREASURER, DENNIS HILDEBRANDT

Mr. Hildebrandt stated that there are sufficient funds to pay the bills and that there is $165,000 in cash after the bills are paid.

DAVE WINTERS, CHAIRMAN

Mr. Winters advised the Committee that Ordinance 2024-1: An Ordinance Abating the Ad Valorem Tax Previously Levied for the Year 2023 to Pay Debt Service on the $1,585,000 General Obligation Alternate Bond (Waterworks System Alternate Revenue Source), Series 2012A, of the Village of Rockton, Winnebago County, Illinois is up for approval at the Village Board meeting later in the evening. The Committee was okay with this.

Mr. Winters thanked Mr. Hildebrandt for getting out a draft version of some of the financials. Mr. Winters said that general engineering is currently running over budget and that the Committee should consider looking into this six months into the new budget to see if they need to reallocate funds. Ms. May stated that some of this is a coding issue. Mr. Winters commented that he is concerned that we may go over budget with the pool as well and stated that there is still $465,000 in the ARPA funds.
