Village of Pecatonica Public Works Committee met Feb. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Call to Order- The meeting was called to order by Chairman Howard at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

2. The Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag was recited.

3. Roll call – Chairman Howard, Village Trustees Tom Gipe were present. Trustee Gipe was absent, she did request to call in however due to Ordinance it is not allowed for a committee meeting it is only allowed at full board.

Also in attendance were Village President Tom Heister, Police Chief Matt Summers. 4. Additions/Corrections to the Agenda- None

5. Approve the Agenda -

A motion was made by Trustee Tom Gipe and seconded by Chairman Howard to approve the agenda. Discussion, A roll call vote was taken. All present voted yes. Motion approved 2-0-1.

6. Public Comment- None.

7. Approve the January 3, 2024, Minutes

A motion was made by Trustee Tom Gipe and seconded by Chairman Howard to approve the January 3, 2024, minutes. Discussion. A roll call vote was taken. All present voted yes. Motion approved 2-0-1.

8. Items for Discussion

a. Time Limit on Parking –

Chief Summers reviewed the Time Limit for Parking, he discussed the option of keeping the Ordinance consistent at a time limit of 48 hours. They also discussed the wording of the ordinance to clarify. Discussion. The Ordinance is ready and will be at the next Regular Board Meeting for final approval.

b. Body Cam Update-

Chief Summers reviewed the quote from Motorola in the amount of $9495.00, this includes a 5-year license and 5 years maintenance plan, yearly it would be $900.00 after that for the redaction software needed for Body Cams. Chief Summers has also reached out to Veritone and he is waiting for a quote. They charge $100.00 per hour and we are not expecting the need to use the software often, this may be the better option. Discussion. This will be discussed at the next committee meeting.

c. Preliminary Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-

The committee discussed the budget as far as capital items that may need to be purchased in the upcoming fiscal year. Discussion. The committee discussed selling the Truck that is no longer in service, and that the proceeds from the sale be placed in the police capital fund. Chief Summers also discussed the need to replace the police radios. He will get quotes and bring them to the next committee meeting.

10. Adjournment –

A motion was made by Trustee Gipe and seconded by Chairman Howard to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 6:33 pm.
