II. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES

The minutes of the last regular meeting held on January 10, 2024, were approved as submitted.

III. TRAFFIC REQUESTS

A. New Business

1. Request in the 1st Ward, by Alderman Timothy Durkee, to establish “No Parking Any Time” restriction on the north side of Barrick Drive from Ware Road to Reid Farm Road. (K. Lin explained that this item was laid over from a previous meeting so that Alderman Durkee could have conversations with the Park District regarding trying to reduce the amount of soccer teams using this park.

Mr. Chuck Sicotte and Mrs. Shaun Sicotte gave some background on the request and explained that they feel the overuse of the park creates dangerous situations for children crossing the street as well as people walking in the neighborhood. They also feel that parking on both sides of the street makes access difficult. K. Lin pointed out that parking further into the neighborhood may be impacted by this restriction but Mrs. Shaun Sicotte responded that by making parking more difficult, teams may choose to move to other parks. P. Yarbrough commented that enforcement of the restriction will be very necessary. It was also noted that Knox Drive may be negatively impacted by this restriction and it is possible that a restriction on Knox Drive may be requested at a later time. Commission recommended establishing “No Parking Any Time” restriction on the north side of Barrick Drive from Ware Road to Reid Farm Road and that this area is reviewed in one year. Motion by C. Tumeo, seconded by P. Yarbrough, Voted 7-0).

2. Request in the 1st Ward, by Alderman Timothy Durkee, to establish “No Parking Any Time” restriction on both sides of Wishart Drive from Barrick Drive to 50 feet north of Barrick Drive. (See previous item.
