City of Carlyle Police Committee met Feb. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The Police Committee meeting was called to order by Police Committee Chairman Bruce Hilmes on February 21, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Carlyle Police Department at 2111 West Lake Drive, Carlyle, Illinois 62231.Committee members present were Committee Chairman Bruce Hilmes, Aldermen Scott Diekemper, and Jeremy Weh. Others present were Mayor Judy Smith, City Administrator Brad Myers, Aldermen Jim McClaren, Tammy Peters, Chief of Police Mark Pingsterhaus, and City Clerk Rita Jurgensmeyer.

Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Alderman Scott Diekemper to approve the minutes from November 13, 2023. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeremy Weh, and it was approved by voice vote.

New Business

Any Other Comments

Public Comments

There were no public comments.

Executive Session

At 6:01 p.m. a motion was made by Alderman Jeremy Weh to go into executive session to discuss personnel 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. The motion was seconded by Alderman Scott Diekemper it was approved by voice vote. At 7:07 p.m. the committee returned to regular session.

Adjournment

At 7:08 p.m. a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Jeremy Weh. The motion was seconded by Alderman Scott Diekemper and was approved by voice vote.
