City of Carlyle Finance Committee met Feb. 26.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jeremy Weh on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 6:45 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. Committee members present included Jeremy Weh, John Hodapp, and Jeff Taylor. Others present included Tammy Peters, Jim McClaren, Mike Jansen, Scott Diekemper, Bruce Hilmes, Chief Mark Pingsterhaus, Mayor Judy Smith, Brad Myers (via phone), and Rita Jurgensmeyer. 

Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Alderman Jeremy Weh and seconded by Alderman John Hodapp to approve the minutes from the February 12, 2024, meeting. The motion was approved by voice vote. 

Approval of Claims

Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to approve the claims. Alderman Jeff Taylor seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote. 

Unfinished Business

There was no unfinished business. 

New Business

There was no new business. 

Any Other Comments

There were no any other comments. 

Public Comments

There were no public comments. 

Executive Session

At 6:46 p.m. a motion was made by Alderman John Hodapp to go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeff Taylor and it was approved by voice vote. At 6:59 p.m. the committee returned to regular session. Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to take to council the purchase of property at 930 Ridge Street from Laurie Berry at the price of $7,000.00. Alderman Jeremy Weh seconded the motion and it was approved by voice vote. Alderman Jeremy Weh made a motion to approve the clerical union contract and take it to council. Alderman Jeff Taylor seconded the motion and it was approved by voice vote. 

Adjournment

At 7:00 p.m. a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Jeff Taylor. The motion was seconded by Alderman John Hodapp and was approved by voice vote.
