City of Rockford Finance & Personnel Committee met June 3.

The following represents, in general, the chronological order of proceedings at the City Council/Committee Meetings: Call to Order, Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, Public Speaking and City Council/Committee Agendas.

II. COMMITTEE REPORTS

1. Approval of the Fire Department Sworn Temporary Staffing Adjustment. The proposed increase in authorized full-time employees (FTEs) is two (2) recruit classes per year (one in Spring and one in Fall), each consisting of at least twelve (12) new recruit firefighters.

III. RESOLUTIONS

1. Acceptance of FY 2024 Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board (ILETSB) Law Enforcement Camera Grant Award in the amount of $842,328.00. The grant does not require a cost match. The grant term is from April 10, 2024, to June 30, 2024.

2. Acceptance of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Youth Crisis Housing Advocacy Grant Award in the amount of $135,000.00. The grant does not require a cost match. The grant term is from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027. The grant funds will pay for staff time of two housing advocates to provide services to youth aging out of foster care involved in the child welfare system.

3. Acceptance of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Norman Housing Advocacy Grant Award in the amount of $270,000.00. The grant does not require a cost match. The grant term is from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027. The grant funds will pay for staff time of two housing advocates to provide services for families involved in the child welfare system.
