On April 23, 2024, the Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), published a Final Rule that includes an amendment to 24 CFR 58.45.
The updated 24 CFR Part 58 regulation allows online publication of Notices of Intent to Request Release of Funds (NOI-RROF) and Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSI) starting May 23, 2024. This means that in addition to the traditional options of physical posting, notification by mail/email, and newspaper publications, Responsible Entities may now post the same notices on their own government websites to satisfy publication requirements.
The City of Rockford is choosing to utilize the option afforded by the amended regulation and will only be publishing the above-mentioned notices on the City’s website in lieu of other notice publication options.
