Motion to Approve Minutes of June 3, 2024 by:_ _ Ald. LIttle , Second Ald. Owens , Vote: 4-0

Old Business – NONE

New Business – 1) Liquor license application (1824 E. Riverside Blvd., LP Mini-Mart: Tomy Joseph appeared and expressed his desire to obtain a Class B liquor license for his business at the above location. The committee is familiar with this location, as licenses have been suspended previously and an application earlier this year was denied when the applicant failed to provide information requested by the committee concerning similarities between the current applicant and the prior businesses. Attorney Galluzzo raised many of the same issues as in the most recent application, as there seemed a commonality between certain identifying information (prior applicant to current). The applicant explained some of the common information and stated categorically he was not involved in those past businesses that lost licenses and those persons were not involved with the current business. Attorney Galluzzo suggested it may be appropriate to continue this matter to allow time for the applicant to provide additional information and his office to confirm if, indeed, there is sufficient difference so that this applicant is not precluded from pursuing a license under our current ordinances. The applicant understood the need to provide the city attorney further information well before our next meeting (July 15, 2024).
