II. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES

The minutes of the last regular meeting held on May 8, 2024, were approved as submitted.

III. TRAFFIC REQUESTS

A. New Business

1. Request in the 10th Ward, by Rebecca Spriggs and Loretta Ward,

Rockford Gastroenterology, 401 Roxbury Road, to establish a Mid-Block Pedestrian Crossing in the 400 block of Roxbury Road. (K. Lin stated that roadway geometrics and the limited use of the crossing by employees coming and leaving work make the location inappropriate. C. Tumeo and T. Okite both commented that the roadway geometrics make this a dangerous location for a crossing. It was also noted that the property has a section of sidewalk along the east side pointing towards OSF hospital and that parking may be attainable in the OSF lot. A crossing of the roadway there might be more feasible due to better geometrics and lower traffic volumes. Commission recommended taking “No Action.” Motion by C. Tumeo, seconded by T. Okite, Voted 9-0).

2. Request in the 12th Ward, by Erica Pierre, 3931 Eagle Drive #102, to establish “No Parking Any Time Except Paratransit” on the south side of City View Court from 130 feet east of Eagle Drive to 150 feet east of Eagle Drive. (Ms. Erica Pierre spoke on behalf of her request. She commented that her son utilizes the paratransit service almost on a daily basis. C. Ketton requested that the restriction be extended to 30 feet to accommodate some of RMTD’s longer paratransit vehicles. Commission recommended establishing “No Parking Any Time Except Paratransit” on the south side of City View Court from 125 feet east of Eagle Drive to 155 feet east of Eagle Drive. Motion by C. Ketton, seconded by B. Strawser, Voted 9-0).

3. Elections for Chairman and Vice Chairman were held. D. Peterson ran for Chairman and was elected. T. Okite ran for Vice Chairman and was elected.

IV. ADJOURNMENT

The meeting adjourned at 6:23 PM. Motion by D. Bissell, seconded by M. Slife.
