Hardworking Illinois families are finding it increasingly difficult to manage the rising costs of health insurance, while the State of Illinois continues to fund comprehensive healthcare plans for non-citizens. In response, support is growing for House Bill 5846, which aims to prioritize Illinois citizens and terminate free health insurance programs for non-citizens established under Governor Pritzker's administration.
Representative Cabello has also taken a stand by co-sponsoring House Bill 4187. This legislation seeks to repeal the TRUST Act, a law that designates Illinois as a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants. The TRUST Act currently restricts local law enforcement from collaborating with federal authorities on deportation efforts.
