II. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES

The minutes of the last regular meeting held on July 10, 2024, were approved as submitted.

III. TRAFFIC REQUESTS

A. New Business

1. Request in the 8th Ward, by Alderman Karen Hoffman, to establish a “No Parking Any Time” restriction on the east side of Sexton Drive from Broadway to 75 feet south of Broadway. (K. Lin commented that the Alderman expressed concern about eastbound cars turning south onto Sexton Drive from Broadway and northbound cars being over too far due to vehicles parked on the east side. D. Bissell commented that the road is wide there and that there is no parking allowed on the west side of the street so there is sufficient room for turning vehicles. He visited the site multiple times and saw the vehicle of concern. Each time, it was a sufficient distance back from the intersection. B. Strawser replied that he was not aware of any accidents at that location. Commission recommended taking “No Action.” Motion by C. Ketton, seconded by M. Slife, Voted 7-0).

B. Other Business:

1. D. Bissell offered the suggestion of moving the meeting time to 5:30 PM. In general, the members were supportive of this suggestion but a concern was expressed stating that the new time may be difficult for citizens coming to speak on their requests. Due to a few members being absent, the commission decided to discuss this in more detail at a future meeting.

IV. ADJOURNMENT

The meeting was closed at 6:10 PM
