House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has announced a “Medicare 101” event in collaboration with the Illinois Department on Aging’s Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and State Representative John M. Cabello (R-Machesney Park). The session aims to help seniors understand Medicare and will take place on October 24th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Highland Community College, 2998 Pearl City Road, Freeport.

Experts from SHIP will provide insights and guidance on various aspects of Medicare during the session. Seniors attending the event will have an opportunity to get their questions answered and gain a clearer understanding of the Medicare system, helping them make informed decisions about their healthcare coverage.

“It’s important that seniors have the information they need to make the best decisions about their healthcare. I encourage anyone with questions about Medicare to attend and take advantage of the expert advice being offered,” said Cabello.

“I encourage any senior in the area to come out and have your questions and concerns heard,” said Leader McCombie. “Medicare is daunting but necessary, and these events are built to help residents understand their options.”

The event is free and open to all seniors looking to enhance their understanding of Medicare. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions and engage in this informative session. For more information about the upcoming events, contact Leader McCombie’s district office at mccombie@ilhousegop.org or 815-291-8989.
