State Representative Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford) has been honored as a "Champion of Manufacturing" by the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA). This recognition comes in light of his legislative voting record during the 2023-2024 session, which supported the manufacturing sector. The IMA’s award acknowledges legislators who advocate for policies benefiting the manufacturing industry. Sosnowski’s rating is based on his favorable voting record on key legislation affecting this sector.
"The men and women who make the products that power our economy deserve strong advocates in Springfield," Representative Sosnowski stated. "I am honored to be named a manufacturing champion and remain committed to advancing policies that make Illinois a more attractive and affordable place for manufacturers to locate, innovate, create jobs and support families. I am grateful to the IMA for their advocacy and leadership toward making this shared goal a reality."
The IMA notes that Illinois manufacturers employ 592,000 individuals on shop floors, contributing $304 billion in economic output – representing the largest share of the state's economy.
