Representative Joe C. Sosnowski (R) | Illinois General Assembly
State Representative Joe Sosnowski of Rockford has been recognized by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce as a 2023-24 Champion of Free Enterprise. This accolade is awarded to legislators who have notably contributed to defending free enterprise and promoting economic opportunities in Illinois.
In response to receiving the award, Representative Sosnowski stated, "Illinois’ path toward regaining our status as the Midwest’s leading state for job growth and opportunity runs through our incredible small business community." He emphasized the role of small businesses as "the catalysts of growth and innovation all across Illinois" and expressed pride in supporting them alongside the Illinois Chamber.
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce evaluates all 177 members of the General Assembly based on their votes on significant business legislation. The Champion of Free Enterprise Awards are presented every two years to those whose ratings average 85 percent or higher over two legislative sessions. These awards honor commitment to legislation that encourages entrepreneurship. Representative Sosnowski achieved a rating of 95% during the period from 2021 to 2024.
Representative Sosnowski serves the 69th District, covering parts of Winnebago, Boone, and McHenry Counties.
