There were 79 Am. Indian students enrolled in Winnebago County school districts in the 2022-23 school year, 2.5% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Data showed that Am. Indian students made up 0.2% of the 42,873 students in the county. They were the second least represented ethnicity at the time.

Among the 11 districts in Winnebago County, Rockford School District 205 recorded the highest enrollment of Am. Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 57 students.
