Motion to Approve Minutes of September 3, 2024 by: Ald. Owens, Second Ald. Schlensker, Vote: 3-0

Old Business - Liquor license (Dairy Depot, 5423 N. 2nd Street) - Robert Witt appeared to update the steps taken since the last committee meeting with planned changes at this location. Both electrical and plumbing personnel have been to the location to make recommendations, and plans have been made to stripe the parking area; there are still some delays in preparation of a formal site plan. Discussions were had concerning the parking requirements and the importance to coordinate with city staff to ensure adequate spaces are available under the applicable ordinances. The applicant will reach out to staff again and asked this matter be set over to the next committee meeting.

Motion to lay over to October 21, 2024 meeting by Ald. Owens, Second by Ald. Schlensker, Vote: 3-0

New Business - 1) Special Event Permit - Ski Broncs (Shorewood Park, October 20, 2024): Monica Bonetta appeared on behalf of the applicant to discuss plans for a Trunk or Treat event at Shorewood Park organized by the Ski Broncs. An updated map of the planned event was presented to ensure vehicle access would not be near the actual event (to address safety concerns). Staff expressed no concerns, nor were any raised by committee members.

Motion to approve the application by Ald. Owens, Second by Ald. Schlensker, Vote: 3-0

2) Liquor license application - Da Catch, 1824 E. Riverside Blvd.: Tomy Joseph appeared to discuss the request for a Class D liquor license at the above location. Staff had expressed some concerns, as this address has a license already and advertising should be focused on the restaurant business and not gaming; these concerns were raised at the meeting. In addition, Attorney Galluzzo raised concerns of having two licenses in the same building which are essentially operated by the same control party with the same staff -(similar individuals controlling both businesses); modifying the current license was suggested as an appropriate action instead of multiple licenses. It was suggested that this matter be laid over until our next meeting to allow Attorney Galluzzo and Nathan Bruck to discuss these concerns and then share information with the applicant; Mr. Joseph expressed no objection to those steps and the continuance.

Motion to lay over to October 21, 2024 meeting by Ald. Owens, Second by Ald. Schlensker, Vote:_3-0
