Illinois has opened its firearm deer hunting season, running from today through November 24, with a second round planned for December 7-10. Hunters are advised to wear blaze orange or pink gear and adhere to all regulations, including permit and license requirements. The designated hunting hours are from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset.

Safety remains a top priority for all deer hunters. Additionally, deer harvested in counties monitored for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) must be reported on the same day. Testing is encouraged in affected areas to help manage this disease.

Hunters and outdoor enthusiasts are urged to engage responsibly during the season to maintain a balanced deer population. For further information on hunting rules and permits, individuals can visit the Illinois Department of Natural Resources website.

For additional details or inquiries, Representative Cabello can be contacted at 815-621-2196. John M. Cabello serves as the Assistant Minority Leader and State Representative for Illinois’ 90th House District, covering communities in Winnebago, Stephenson, and Boone counties.
