The Illinois Flag Commission has unveiled the top 10 finalists in the competition for a new state flag design. Beginning in January, the public will have an opportunity to participate by voting on their preferred design. Voters can choose from among the 10 finalists, the existing state flag, or one of Illinois' historic flags.
This initiative marks a significant moment as residents are given a voice in potentially redefining an emblem that represents their state.
