Chairwoman Torina called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. The invocation was done by Chairwoman Torina, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

SPEAKERS: 

. Tiffany Barracks thanked the City of Rockford Council Members and Staff for their work and dedication. She stated that she is a real estate investor, and a member of the Housing Committee for the West Gateway Coalition. She brought a book titled “Just Action,” and provided copies for all of the Council Members. Ms. Barracks noted that the book was about diverse, affordable housing.

. Prophet Yusef quoted scripture, and spoke about healthcare and racial inequities.

. John Tac Brantley spoke about teaching children about their history. He also thanked Fire Chief Pankow, and Police Chief Redd for always acknowledging the children that he brings to the City Council meetings.
