The Chair, Alderperson Wilkins, called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m.

II. INVOCATION 

Chaplain Calvin Culpepper gave the invocation. Alderwoman Wilkins led the Pledge of Allegiance.

III. PUBLIC SPEAKING 

1) Joan Sage announced her retirement from Comcast and gave the Aldermen updated contact information for Comcast in case of down lines.

2) Prophet Yusef quoted scripture and spoke about the deterioration of America.

3) John Tac Brantley talked about the lack of knowledge and teaching surround Martin Luther King Jr as well as his progress with funding a trip for community youths to see the Harlem Globetrotters.

IV. COMMITTEE REPORTS 

1. Approval of the proposed 2025 Funding Agreement with the Rockford Area Arts Council (RAAC) in the amount of $75,000. 

Alderwoman Hoffman made a motion to approve. Alderman Rose seconded. After discussion, MOTION PREVAILED 4 to 0 by roll call vote.

RESULT: APPROVED BY COMMITTEE [UNANIMOUS] 

AYES: Karen Hoffman, Bill Rose, Janessa Wilkins, Gina Meeks

ABSENT: Tim Durkee

V. RESOLUTIONS

1. Approval of Grant application and award acceptance through Bloomberg Philanthropies for the maximum amount of $100,000. This Grant funds creating artistic intersection bump/bulb outs and other possible street art near the area of the City Market in the downtown area. The Rockford Area Arts Council (RAAC) would be co-applicant. The grant does not require a cost match. 

Alderwoman Meeks made a motion to approve. Alderman Rose seconded. After discussion, MOTION PREVAILED 5 to 0 by roll call vote.

RESULT: APPROVED BY COMMITTEE [UNANIMOUS] 

AYES: Durkee, Hoffman, Rose, Wilkins, Meeks

VI. ADJOURNMENT 

Alderwoman Meeks made a motion to adjourn. Alderman Rose seconded the motion. MOTION PREVAILED by unanimous voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
