Congressman Darin LaHood extended his congratulations to James Shadid, who has assumed the role of the 13th President of Bradley University. LaHood underscored Bradley University's long-standing role in the community, stating, “Bradley University is a pillar in our community and has educated our students for over 100 years.”
LaHood also remarked on Shadid's previous position, saying, “I want to congratulate Judge Shadid on being appointed the new President of Bradley University. Having served as Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court of Central Illinois, his dedication and commitment to the greater Peoria area will continue in this new role. The Peoria community has been fortunate to benefit from his leadership and integrity, and I am confident that under his guidance, Bradley will continue to build on its generational legacy as a premier academic institution.”
James Shadid was announced as the 13th President of Bradley University on March 14, 2025. Prior to this appointment, he served as a United States District Judge. Shadid is an alumnus of Bradley University, having graduated in 1979.
