ATTOM reports Illinois has highest property tax rates in U.S

According to a recent tax analysis by ATTOM, Illinois holds the highest effective property tax rates in the United States. The report highlights that four out of the five top-taxing metropolitan areas are located within Illinois.

"This is one list where we definitely don’t want to be #1. Illinoisans need relief from this crushing tax burden!" stated an unnamed source in response to the findings.
