The City of Rockford has been honored with the Triple Crown award by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This accolade is reserved for governments that achieve all three of GFOA's top honors: the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, and the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award.

Securing even one of these awards is a notable feat. However, earning all three distinguishes Rockford as part of an exclusive group. Nationwide, less than 0.5% of local governments have achieved this level of recognition, with only around 350 cities and counties being acknowledged in such a manner.

"This achievement reflects the incredible work of our Finance Department and the City team as a whole," stated Mayor Tom McNamara. "It demonstrates our commitment to transparency, accountability and excellence in financial stewardship. Congratulations to everyone involved!"
