City of Loves Park Codes & Regulations Committee met June 16.

Motion to Approve Minutes of June 2, 2025 by:_Ald. Owens , Second Ald. Little , Vote: 3-0

New Business 

1) Special Event Permit – Wolf Pack Social Club, weekend of 9/20-21/25, 100 Heart Blvd (event grounds): Mike Maffioli and Jaz Bilich appeared and explained their request for a special event permit for the event listed above. This is the third year for this group to host the event, which includes a swap meet and motorcycle show; vendors for food and other items will be present, and a BBQ competition will also be held. Food will be monitored as necessary by county (licensed food trucks) and the need for a temporary liquor license through the City (or an approved vendor) was addressed. No entry to the building is expected (porta-toilets will be used for attendees). Concerns raised by Chief Hart were addressed to ensure adequate clearance for emergency vehicles as may be necessary. Concerns raised by Chief McCammond as to security were also addressed, with various members of the group serving in that capacity and a willingness to have LPPD present during patrols; further discussion with LPPD to finalize this aspect of the event was recommended. Both chiefs were satisfied with the discussions and responses. The proceeds from the event benefit the Lurie Childrens’ Hospital in Chicago, the Winnebago County K9 unit and (given the location of the event) the LPPD K9 unit. Other questions were addressed adequately to the members of the committee
